Accountant (Greek and Russian Speakers)

A growing business with international operations, our Client is seeking to add an experienced Accountant to their team in Nicosia. The successful candidate will be experienced in IFRS, VAT, Payroll and Income Tax, and proficient in using E-Soft or other accounting programs. In addition to excellent communication skills in Greek and English (written and verbal), proficiency in Russian would be a significant advantage. As part of a small and friendly team, you will work closely with the Chief Accountant, while taking ownership of your day-to-day duties.

Main Duties And Responsibilities
  • Manage accounting books in E-Soft
  • Preparation of Profit and Loss Reports on a quarterly basis
  • Preparation of Financial Statements on a quarterly basis
  • Check incoming invoices for any mistakes and acceptance certificates
  • Preparation of outgoing invoices and acceptance certificates
  • Payment controls and receipts
  • Manage the company’s payment schedules
  • Preparation of payroll (calculation of PAYE and SI contributions)
  • Calculate VAT and prepare VAT declarations (including reverse charge mechanism)
  • Preparation of IR4 tax forms
  • Preparation of Income tax returns of Employer (IR1)
  • Preparation of Income tax returns of Employees (IR7)
  • Preparation of Tax forms of Employees Emoluments (apl. to TD1)
  • Communication with social insurance and tax departments
  • Assist and report to the Chief Accountant as per need
Candidate Profile
  • University degree in Accounting/Finance or a relevant field
  • At least 2 years’ working experience in an accounting role
  • Knowledge of IFRS is a must
  • ACA/ACCA qualification would be an advantage
  • Fluency in Greek and English is a must
  • Russian language would be a significant advantage
